Debbie Painter Autism by the Sea

"The journey of autism can be uncertain, confusing, and painful for families; but having a strong support system can make a world of difference."

We still have much to learn about Autism. From accurately diagnosing it to helping children with the condition lead healthy and productive lives. The journey of autism can be uncertain, confusing, and painful for families; but having a strong support system can make a world of difference.

To fill this need, Debbie Painter founded Autism by the Sea, a community resource for families with children on the autism spectrum. By partnering with local schools, nonprofits, and volunteers, Autism by the Sea provides Support, Education, and Awareness (SEA) that often proves invaluable. What makes Autism by the Sea so powerful is its ability to not only address practical needs, but also provide emotional support. This is evidenced by Coffee and Pie, a group Debbie formed to bring a group of mothers together to educate, nurture, and support fellow mothers with a child on the spectrum through community and shared experience.

A mother of two boys whom she calls her “heroes,” Debbie is proof positive that a mother’s love is an unstoppable force that can bring communities together and conquer even the most daunting of challenges.

Farmers & Merchants Bank has been proudly doing business with Debbie Painter for 4 years.
