For more than 50 years, helping others has been part of Dr. Kenneth Tokita’s job description. As an oncologist, Dr. Tokita specializes in screening and treatments for a range of cancers while conducting invaluable research that may one day help eradicate cancer altogether. While his life’s work has impacted countless people, his extensive list of philanthropic endeavors has also been transformative.
Dr. Tokita founded the Medici Foundation, which is a medical research nonprofit organization supporting cancer research. Dr. Tokita has also worked closely with Breast Center of Irvine, donating valuable equipment for life-saving screenings. Dr. Tokita and his team are actively involved with Cruisin’ for a Cure, a car show that raises valuable funding for cancer research.
Outside of the medical field, Dr. Tokita has worked with a range of causes focused on helping young people. Dr. Tokita and his wife Sandy Tokita were the original members of the Legacy Group for the Irvine Public Schools foundation. The Tokita family are longtime supporters of Team Kids, which promotes engagement between law enforcement and local children. Dr. Tokita founded the Parnassus Society, which is dedicated to supporting and promoting the artistic development and professional careers of promising young artists.
