Jim Holden Fish for Life
"The result: Fish for Life. Since its maiden voyage in 2010, the organization has launched 42 trips and served nearly 1,300 kids with the mission of “spreading the LOVE one boat at a time.”"
“Take me fishing.” It was a simple ask that would alter the course of Jim Holden’s life and bless thousands. Before receiving this humble request by his dear friend and cerebral palsy patient Jeffrey Kutcher, Jim Holden was an avid salt water fisherman who took to the water for recreation. But the simplicity and sincerity of Jeffrey’s question spurred a wave ideas: What if fishing could serve as a vehicle for helping kids in need? What if we took a boat full of them out on a fishing trip? Could we bring on a crew of volunteers to serve them and make them feel special? How about rolling a red carpet down the gangway to introduce each guest?
The result: Fish for Life. Since its maiden voyage in 2010, the organization has launched 42 trips and served nearly 1,300 kids with the mission of “spreading the LOVE one boat at a time.” The ultimate goal, according to Jim, is to create positive memories for kids and parents and a safe haven for them to be loved and not judged. For decades, fishing was Jim Holden’s passion. Now, it’s a life-affirming pursuit that brings joy by the boatload.
Farmers & Merchants Bank has been proudly doing business with Jim Holden for 3 years.
