Tim Jones The Beacon House

"Tim Jones, through his leadership with The Beacon House is working daily to change these odds."

Many young men in San Pedro face a bleak future. Battling homelessness, drug addiction, and incarceration, the odds of recovery often seem devastatingly low. Tim Jones, through his leadership with The Beacon House is working daily to change these odds. Tim and his volunteers with the Beacon House have established a “therapeutic” community, which helps to develop interpersonal relationships, leadership traits, and personal responsibility among these at-risk young men. The program consists of resident peers supporting and tracking each other’s progress through mutual support, daily observation, and honest feedback. Tim even worked with the USC School of Dentistry to provide free dental work as part of the rehabilitation process.

This approach enables these young men to become responsible, credentialed, service oriented, and hard-working men who go on to enroll in undergraduate studies, trade schools, obtain employment, and even start their own business.

The road to rehabilitation is full of challenges, but Tim realized long ago that the most valuable resource one can offer is encouragement and support. Thanks to his efforts, many young many have traveled this road and reclaimed their future.

Farmers & Merchants Bank has been proudly doing business with Tim Jones and The Beacon House Association of San Pedro for 2 months.
