Farmers & Merchants Bank Awards $20,000 In Grants To Support Small Businesses for Pandemic Relief

LONG BEACH, CA (January 4, 2021) - Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M Bank), California’s Strongest, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 Micro/Small Business Grant Program, each receiving between $1,500 and $5,000: Garrett James of Ironmen Basketball $2,500; Gerardo Villa-Lobos of Centro Documental $3,500; Pauly Flores of Flores Learning Child Care $5,000; Christine Okjin Roh of Bons Dry Cleaners $2,500; Mario Lemus of B&M Printing Inc. $1,500; Brenda De Leon of De Leon Family Daycare $5,000.
In response to the escalating need for pandemic relief resources, F&M Bank committed $20,000 to support local micro or small businesses adversely impacted by COVID-19 who have been forced to make adjustments to stabilize the business while continuing to support the local community. Eligible businesses could apply for a grant up to $5,000, with the potential to receive a matching grant via the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s ‘Make a Contribution to Make a Difference’ grant matching program.
Winners were selected from 84 applicants by a Grants Selection Committee comprised of F&M Bank employees. Preference was given to businesses serving low to moderate income communities and/or those owned by a member of an underrepresented community. Being an F&M Bank client was not a requirement.
